BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
October 19, 2011
7:00 PM
Chairman Marley called the
Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:05:41 PM.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Commissioner Marley,
Smith, Weston and Myers; Councilmember Kaemingk.
ABSENT: Commissioner Joplin,
Magnuson and Scott.
STAFF: City Planner Gaudette.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairman
Marley opened for consideration approval of the September 21,
2011 Planning Commission minutes. The minutes were not approved due to lack of
quorum of Commissioners who were present at the September 21, 2011 meeting.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember Kaemingk
discussed recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
MISCELLANEOUS
BUSINESS:
Chairman
Marley opened for review the Planning Commission Annual Report.
City Planner Gaudette went over the Annual Report
with the Commissioners. Commissioner Smith made a MOTION to forward the Planning
Commission Annual Report to the City Council as written. Commissioner Myers SECONDED.
Motion carried.

Marley opened for discussion the draft changes to the Nuisance Ordinance.
City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the
changes. Commissioner Weston would like to see something added regarding what
can be done when a neighbor’s vegetation grows into your yard. The
Commissioners would like to have Eric Beverly present at their next meeting to
discuss this Ordinance.
Commissioner Marley made a MOTION to take a 2 minute recess
at 7:34:29 PM. Commissioner Weston SECONDED. Motion carried.
The Planning Commission reconvened at 7:36:53 PM.

Marley opened for discussion the new draft of the Off Street parking Ordinance.
City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the
Ordinance. It will be considered to remove the parking and storage of vehicles from
the Nuisance Ordinance and just have it in Title 17.48.

Marley opened for discussion the new draft of the Light Ordinance. City Planner
Gaudette gave an overview of the Ordinance. There was
Commissioner discussion.
City Planner Gaudette
informed the Commissioners of what is on the agenda for the upcoming Public
Hearings.
The City of Kenmore has appealed the Critical Area
Ordinance to the Growth Management board.
We will hold a hearing on the zoning of
Allview
Heights, the next area to
annex into the City.
We will hold a hearing for the Wynbrook Plat, a 14 lot development.

Commissioner Myers made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner Smith SECONDED. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:06:58 PM.
