BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
April 18, 2012
7:00 PM
Chairman Marley called the
Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:01:52 PM.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Commissioner Marley,
Smith, Magnuson, Scott, Weston and Carroll; Councilmember Kaemingk
arrived at 7:26:11 PM.
ABSENT: Commissioner Myers.
STAFF: City Planner Gaudette.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairman
Marley opened for consideration approval of the March 21, 2012 Planning
Commission minutes. Commissioner Carroll made a MOTION
to approve the March 21, 2012 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner
Magnuson SECONDED. Motion
Carried. Commissioners Smith and Scott abstained.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember Kaemingk discussed recent
City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Chairman
Marley opened discussion on Conditional Use Permit 12-001 for a Secondary
Dwelling Unit for Art and Janet Alley. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview
of the permit requirements recommending approval with conditions. Chairman
Marley opened the public hearing at 7:10:26 PM.
Mike
McGrath from Brier, would like to see the City stay a single family residence.
The
public hearing was closed at 7:13:01 PM. Commissioner Smith
made a MOTION to recommend approval to City Council for Conditional Use
Permit 12-001. Commissioner Scott SECONDED. There was Commissioner discussion. Commissioner Marley made a MOTION
to amend the motion to include the staff recommended conditions. Commissioner
Smith SECONDED. Motion carried
and main motion carried.
Chairman
Marley opened discussion on the Shoreline Master Program. City Planner Gaudette
gave an overview of the program, with the intent to adopt this program. Our
Shoreline Master Program consultants, Amy Summe and Ferdouse Oneza gave a detailed
presentation explaining the purpose and benefit of the Shoreline Master
Program. The public hearing opened at 7:59:05 PM. The public hearing was closed at 7:59:26 PM. Commissioner Scott
made a MOTION to
recommend
approval to City Council to adopt the Shoreline Master Program. Commissioner Smith SECONDED. Motion carried.
MISCELLANEOUS
BUSINESS:
Resident Peggy Dare added comments
regarding the Animal Code.
City Planner Gaudette gave an overview
of upcoming meetings.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner Smith made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner Magnuson SECONDED. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:28:00 PM.
