September 18, 2013

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston called the Brier Planning Commission
meeting to order at 7:01:56 PM.
ROLL
CALL:
PRESENT: Commissioner Scott,
Weston, Myers, Carroll and Bowles; Councilmember Kaemingk. Commissioner Marley
arrived at 7:05:56 PM.
ABSENT: Commissioner Wirch.
STAFF: City Planner Gaudette.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:
Chairman
Pro-Tem Weston opened for consideration approval of the May 15, 2013 Planning
Commission minutes. Commissioner Myers made a MOTION
to approve the May 15, 2013 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Bowles SECONDED. Motion
Carried with Commissioner Scott abstaining.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember
Kaemingk discussed recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Chairman
Pro-Tem Weston opened the discussion of Variance #13-001 for Jack & Natalie
Kennedy. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the permit; City Staff
recommends approval with conditions. The applicant Jack Kennedy spoke regarding
their request for a Variance.
Chairman
Marley opened the Public Hearing at 7:10:50 PM.
Bob
Gilpan, Mountlake
Terrace, asked if the power will be moved farther down
the driveway.
The
Public Hearing was closed at 7:12:15 PM. Commissioner Myers
made a MOTION to recommend approval to the City Council for Variance
#13-001, for a reduction of front and side yard setbacks. Commissioner Scott SECONDED. Motion carried.

Marley opened the discussion of Conditional Use Permit #13-002 for Jack &
Natalie Kennedy. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the permit; City Staff
recommends approval with conditions. Chairman Marley opened the Public Hearing at
7:21:17 PM. There was no one wishing to speak. The
Public Hearing was closed at 7:22:12 PM. Commissioner
Bowles made a MOTION to recommend approval to the City Council
for Conditional Use Permit #13-002, to install a septic tank with conditions
listed in the staff report. Commissioner Carroll SECONDED.
Commissioner
Carroll made a MOTION to remove condition #2 undergrounding of all
utilities. Commissioner Myers SECONDED. Motion carried. Main
motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
City
Planner Gaudette stated that our Comprehensive Plan needs to be updated to
comply with State regulations by 2015 so we will begin work on it soon.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner Myers made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner
Carroll SECONDED. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:31 PM.
