Chairman Marley called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:31:43 PM. The meeting was delayed waiting for enough commissioners to arrive to have a quorum.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                                  Commissioner Marley, Scott, Wirch and Weston.

ABSENT:                                    Councilmember Kaemingk; Commissioner Myers, Carroll and Bowles.

STAFF:                                       City Planner Gaudette.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Marley opened for consideration approval of the September 18, 2013 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Weston made a MOTION to approve the September 18, 2013 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Scott SECONDED. Motion Carried with Commissioner Wirch abstaining.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairman Marley opened for discussion the Planning Commission Annual Report. Commissioner Scott made a MOTION to forward the Annual Report to the City Council. Commissioner Weston SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Chairman Marley opened for discussion the Introduction to the Comprehensive Plan Update. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of how the update will be handled. The commission watched two videos from the Association of Washington Cities website regarding comprehensive plan updating.

Chairman Marley made a MOTION to recess for 10 minutes at 7:48:09 PM to watch the videos. Commissioner Weston SECONDED. Motion Carried. Chairman Marley extended the recess for an additional 10 minutes at 7:56:27 PM. Chairman Marley reconvened the meeting at 8:06:37 PM. There was additional discussion by City Planner Gaudette and the Commission.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

Commissioner Wirch attended the Snohomish County Living Sustainable Summit and gave an overview of the information that was shared at the meeting.
