Chairman Pro-Tem Scott called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:06:13 PM.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                                  Commissioner Scott, Wirch, Rosman and DeMorett; Councilmember Kaemingk.

ABSENT:                                    Commissioners Marley, Weston and Carroll.

STAFF:                                       City Planner Gaudette.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Pro-Tem Scott opened for consideration approval of the June 18, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Rosman made a MOTION to approve the June 18, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Wirch SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Chairman Pro-Tem Scott opened for consideration approval of the July 16, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION to approve the July 16, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Wirch SECONDED. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Kaemingk discussed recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairman Pro-Tem Scott opened for review the Utility Element of the Comprehensive Plan. City Planner Guadette gave a detailed explanation of the changes to the plan. There was Commissioner discussion.

Commissioner Scott suggested making the planning year dates consistent throughout the Plan.

Commissioner Wirch suggested adding electronic charging stations and solar panels to the Plan.

Commissioner DeMorett would like to see updated maps.

Chairman Pro-Tem Scott opened for review the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. City Planner Guadette gave a detailed explanation of the changes to the plan. There was Commissioner discussion.

Commissioner Wirch suggested adding pedestrian improvements. Discourage signal lights with roundabouts, and also upgrading to ADA standards.
