BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

September 17, 2014
7:00 PM

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:02:13 PM.

 

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:              Commissioner DeMorett, Rosman, Scott, Weston and Wirch.

ABSENT:                Commissioner Carroll and Marley.

STAFF:                   City Planner Gaudette

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston opened for consideration approval of the August 20, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Scott made a MOTION to approve the August 20, 2014 Planning Commission minutes.  Commissioner Wirch SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

 

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston opened for discussion Conditional Use Permit #CUP14-02 for Al M. Rogojan, which would allow a secondary dwelling unit at 23824 Brier Rd. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the permit with a recommendation for approval to City Council with conditions listed in the staff report.

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston opened the public hearing at 7:09:14 PM.

William Nolen of Brier, lives behind the property and wanted to see a reasonable rear yard setback of the ADU. He would also like to see the two large trees in the far back side of the lot to remain in place and verify that one of the houses would remain owner occupied.

Peter Wickstrom of Brier, supports this permit. He would also like to receive a copy of the staff report.

Chairman Pro-Tem Weston closed the public hearing at 7:11:20 PM.

Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION to recommend approve to City Council of Conditional Use Permit #CUP14-02, to allow a secondary dwelling unit at 23824 Brier Rd, with staff recommended conditions. Commissioner Scott SECONDED. Motion carried.

Commissioner DeMorett asked how many trees are on the property.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

Commissioner Wirch asked about the work going on in Brierwood Park. City Planner Gaudette explained that Snohomish County PUD is using Brierwood Park as a staging area for their project.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Commissioner Scott made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner DeMorett SECONDED. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:18:38 PM.
