BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
November 19, 2014

Chairman Marley called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:00:44 PM.
ROLL
CALL:
PRESENT: Commissioner Carroll, DeMorett, Marley, Rosman, Weston
and Wirch; Councilmember Kaemingk.
ABSENT: Commissioner Scott.
STAFF: City Planner Gaudette.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:

Marley opened for consideration approval of the September 17, 2014 Planning
Commission minutes. Commissioner DeMorett
made a MOTION to approve the September 17, 2014 Planning
Commission minutes. Commissioner Weston SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember
Kaemingk discussed recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Chairman
Marley opened for discussion Conditional Use Permit #CUP14-03 for Nelson Lamb
& Sarah Zarelli, which would allow a secondary
dwelling unit at 21917 Old Poplar
Way. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the
permit with a recommendation for approval to City Council with conditions
listed in the staff report. Dan Zarelli gave some
background about his family and their needs.

Marley opened the Public Hearing at 7:11:23 PM.
Peggy
Dare of Brier, asked that the driveway remain unpaved so not to disturb the
trail on Old Poplar Way.
Chairman
Marley closed the Public Hearing at 7:15:56 PM.
Commissioner DeMorett asked about how
they will build around the slope on the lot.
Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION
to recommend approval of the proposed Conditional Use Permit #CUP14-03 to the
City Council with the conditions outlined in the staff report. Commissioner
Weston SECONDED. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:

Marley opened for review the Planning Commission Annual Report. City Planner
Gaudette gave an overview of the report.
Chairman
Marley opened for review the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
City Planner Gaudette gave a detailed review of the changes to the
Transportation Element.
There
was Commissioner discussion.
Chariman Marley asked to have the figures
updated, they are hard to read. He also asked to have consistency with the maps
and make them in color so they are easier to read. And he suggested to remove Firgures 7 and 8.

Wirch suggested to remove Firgure
11.
Commissioner
Weston would like to see a section added for non-motorized facilities.
