BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

January 21, 2015
7:00 PM

Chairman Marley called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:03:10 PM.

 

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                                  Commissioner DeMorett, Marley, Rosman, Scott and Wirch.

ABSENT:                                    Commissioner Carroll and Weston; Councilmember Kaemingk.

STAFF:                                       City Planner Gaudette.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Marley opened for consideration approval of the December 17, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Rosman made a MOTION to approve the December 17, 2014 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Wirch SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.

 

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairman Marley opened for review the Plan Implementation section of the Comprehensive Plan. City Planner Gaudette gave a detailed list of all the updates. There was Commissioner discussion.

 

Chairman Marley opened for review the Technical Memorandum regarding the Parks Element of the Comprehensive Plan. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the memorandum from Berk Consulting and a detailed list of all the updates. There was Commissioner discussion.

Commissioner Rosman does not want to apply grant discounts/credits to mitigation calculations. He would like to see better prioritization for Level of Service.

Chairman Marley suggested applying REET as a discount, and update the maps throughout the Element. He also asked if parks in neighboring cities can be calculated into meeting our Level of Service in regards to walking distance to parks.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

Commissioner Wirch would like to address public transportation within the City. He is concerned that the Community Transit buses are empty. He would like to consider not having the buses in the City and stop paying for the service if the buses are empty.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner Scott SECONDED. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:56:29 PM.
