BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

November 18, 2015
7:00 PM

Chairman Weston called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:00:08 PM.

 

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                                  Commissioner DeMorett, Marley, Rosman, Weston, Thorpe and Wirch; Councilmember Kaemingk.

ABSENT:                                    Commissioner Scott.

STAFF:                                       City Planner Gaudette and Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Weston opened for consideration approval of the October 18, 2015 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Rosman made a MOTION to approve the October 18, 2015 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner DeMorett SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Kaemingk discussed recent City Council activity.

 

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:  None.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Chairman Weston opened for review Conditional Use Permit #CUP15-02 for a secondary dwelling unit for Linda Neumann at 2805 243 Pl SW. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the permit with a recommendation of approval with conditions to City Council.

 

The Public Hearing was opened at 7:06:39 PM.

 

The Public Hearing was closed at 7:07:39 PM.

 

The Public Hearing was re-opened at 7:08:30 PM.

 

Johanna Singh, Brier, would like the City to ask that the beautiful bushes and plants remain at the entrance to the development. Linda Neumann stated that she has no plans to do anything with that area.

 

The Public Hearing was closed 7:11:48 PM.

 

There was Commission discussion. Commissioner Marley made a MOTION to approve and forward the Conditional Use Permit #CUP15-02 for a secondary dwelling unit for Linda Neumann at 2805 243 Pl SW with conditions to City Council. Commissioner Thorpe SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Chairman Weston opened for review Conditional Use Permit #CUP15-03 for a secondary dwelling unit for Nelson Lamb and Sarah Zarelli at 21917 Old Poplar Way. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the permit with a recommendation of approval with conditions to City Council.

 

The applicant Dan Zarelli stated that they are building this to accommodate medical needs of the family. He wanted to address the length of time that is involved to be able to get a site like this with steep slopes and water run-off ready within the time period and he’d like to see the time frame extended.

 

The Public Hearing was opened at 7:25:15 PM.

 

The Public Hearing was closed at 7:26:04 PM.

 

There was Commission discussion. Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION to approve and forward the Conditional Use Permit #CUP15-03 for a secondary dwelling unit for Nelson Lamb and Sarah Zarelli at 21917 Old Poplar Way with conditions to City Council. Commissioner Marley SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairman Weston opened review of the Planning Commission Annual Report. There was Commission discussion.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:  None.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Commissioner Marley made a MOTION to adjourn. Commissioner Rosman SECONDED. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:32:55 PM.
