Chairman Marley called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:01:49 PM.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                                  Commissioner DeMorett, Marley, Rosman, Scott, Weston, Jonart and Thorpe; Councilmember Gallagher.

STAFF:                                       City Planner Balisky.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Marley opened for consideration approval of the November 16, 2016 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner DeMorett made a MOTION to approve the November 16, 2016 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Thorpe SECONDED. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Gallagher discussed recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

A.                Chairman Marley opened discussion on the Comprehensive Plan. City Planner Balisky gave a brief update on the Comprehensive Plan and what the next steps will be.

B.                Chairman Marley opened discussion on recent court decisions. City Planner Balisky shared with the Commissioners a recent court decision regarding Stormwater regulations.

City Planner Balisky also shared with the Commissioners a court decision regarding significant sign code.

C.                Chairman Marley opened discussion on future code amendments. City Planner Balisky advised the Commission on the codes amendment priorities. In the upcoming months they will see code amendments for Zoning – Permit Processing, Signs, Family Daycare Providers, and Outdoor Lighting. Also Environment – SEPA, and Subdivisions / Zoning.
