BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
June 20, 2018

Chairman Marley called the
Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:03 PM.
ROLL CALL:
Roll Call.
Present: Commissioner Marley, Commissioner DeMorret,
Commissioner Jonart, Commissioner Hanson, Councilmember Gallagher, Planner
Flathman.
Absent: Commissioner Scott, Commissioner Weston,
Commissioner Rosman.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairman
Marley opened
for consideration approval of the May 16, 2018 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve
the May 16, 2018 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner DeMorret, Seconded by Commissioner Hanson. Motion Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember Gallagher discussed
recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A.
Chairman Marley opened the
Public Hearing for amendments to Brier Municipal (BMC) Chapter 17.38 Signs,
Code Amendment No. CA18-01 at 7:06 PM. City Planner Flathman gave an overview
of the proposed code changes. There was commissioner discussion.
The Public hearing closed at 7:11 PM.
Motion: Recommend approval to City Council, code amendments of
Chapter 17.38 Signs as written, Moved by
Commissioner DeMorret, Seconded by
Commissioner Hanson. Motion Carried.
B.
Chairman Marley opened the
Public Hearing for amendments to Brier Municipal (BMC) Chapter 17.50 Native
Vegetation and Landscaping, and new Chapter 17.52 Tree Protection, Code
Amendment No. CA18-02 at 7:12 PM. City Planner Flathman gave an overview of the
proposed code changes. There was Commissioner discussion. Chairman Marley
suggested to add “if needed” to section 17.52.120.D,
“…..tree removal and replacement plan if needed”.
The Public Hearing closed at 7:21 PM.
Motion: Recommend approval to City Council, code amendments of
Chapter 17.50 Native Vegetation and Landscaping as written and adopt Chapter
17.52 Tree Protection, with the following addition, add “if
"needed" to section 17.52.120.D, "tree
removal and replacement plan if needed", Moved
by Commissioner DeMorret, Seconded by
Commissioner Jonart. Motion Carried.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion: Adjourn, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Jonart. Motion
Carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:23 PM.
