Commission Chairman Szalda called the meeting to
order at 1:34 PM.
ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners Szalda, Nixdorf,
and Zenk.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Zenk moved to approve the Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes of
March 10, 2006 and May 10, 2006. Motion
carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
A.
Commissioner Szalda opened for
discussion the Civil Service Rules for Non-Uniformed Personnel. Discussion
ensued regarding correspondence between the City Attorney and the Civil Service
Commission regarding the set up of the rules. It was determined the entire
section regarding procedures for appeal will be included in the rules.
Secretary Halverson will prepare the draft and forward to the Commissioners for
review prior to the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Discussed staffing and status of lists.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
A.
Commissioner Zenk and Commissioner Nixdorf expressed interest in
attending the Civil Service Conference
– September 25th through 26th. Secretary Halverson will submit registrations upon approval from
the Mayor and make reservations for accommodations.
B.
Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion scheduling of meetings. It
was determined the next meeting will
be September 6, 2006 at 1:30 PM to review the draft rules.

Nixdorf moved and Commissioner
Zenk seconded to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Szalda declared the
meeting adjourned at 1:44 PM.
