Commission Chairman  Szalda called the meeting to order at 7:07:22 PM  .

ROLL CALL: Present - Commissioners Szalda, Nixdorf and Zenk.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MARCH 18, 2008 SPECIAL MEETING. Commissioner Zenk moved and Commissioner Szalda seconded to approve the minutes of March 18, 2008. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

A.             PERSONNEL UPDATE FROM CHIEF LANE

Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion personnel update from Chief Lane. Chief Lane reports the police department has been granted six bodies for budget 2009. Three of our officers have applied at Mountlake Terrace; Chapel, Thomas and Murphy.

Currently have two Lateral applicants pending oral board and background results. One is coming from Sultan as he was not picked up by County during their takeover. He is also interested in a Reserve Officer position. The second was released while on FTO from Marysville.

B.             QUALIFICATION OF LATERAL APPLICANT

Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion qualification of Lateral Applicant Dockstader. Discussion ensued and it was determined this applicant does qualify as a Lateral candidate.

C.             EXTENSION OF ENTRY LEVEL ELIGIBILITY LIST

Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion extension of the Entry Level Eligibility List certified February 26, 2007.

Commissioner Nixdorf moved and Commissioner Zenk seconded to extend the Entry Level Eligibility List certified on February 26, 2007 for one year pursuant to section 9.2.2. Motion carried.

D.             EXTENSION OF ACADEMY GRADUATE ELIGIBILITY LIST

Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion extension of Academy Graduate Eligibility List certified March 18, 2008.

Commissioner Nixdorf moved and Commissioner Zenk seconded to extend the Academy Graduate Level Eligibility List certified on March 18, 2008 for one year pursuant to section 9.2.2. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

A.             NONE

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

A.             Commissioner Szalda opened for discussion removal of candidates from Academy Graduate Eligibility List of March 18, 2008 pursuant to Section 9.3.3. Secretary Halverson reported Officer Chapel was hired from this list leaving three remaining. No further discussion.

B.          Next meeting tentatively scheduled for April 1, 2009.
