Commissioner Williamson called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioner Leonard and Commissioner Williamson.

Absent: Commissioner Peterson.

Staff: Police Chief Almquist, City-Clerk Treasurer Swisher, Deputy City-Clerk Treasurer Snowden.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Co-Chairperson Williamson opened for consideration for approval of the Civil Service Commission minutes of May 4, 2022. Motion: Approve the Civil Service Commission minutes of May 4. 2022, Moved by Commissioner Leonard, Seconded by Commissioner Williamson.Motion Carried.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussion regarding the mission statement and the role of the commissioners.

NEW BUSINESS:

Co-Chairperson Williamson opened for consideration for approval of the Lateral Certification List. Motion: Approve the Lateral Certification list, Moved by Commissioner Leonard, Seconded by Commissioner Williamson. Motion Carried.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:Police Chief Almquist gave department updates:

- First gathering with residents at Brier Pizza from 7:00am to 10:00am today for Coffee with a Cop, which went well and had a great turnout.

-Lieutenant Ridout is working on National Night Out scheduled for August 2^nd.

New Programs in works -

- "Dog walker" watch program will be released in July.This program is similar to a neighborhood watch format.

- Project 365 - safety focused program with community involvement will be implemented soon.

- In the process of looking at a program called RAD, which is a women's personal safety course. It has been popular in other cities.
