Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:06 PM.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioners DeMorett, Hanson, Lenning, Rosman, Tastad, and Councilmember Gallagher.

Absent: Commissioner Kolden and Jonart.

Staff: Planner Flathman, Clerk/Treasurer Swisher and Mayor Kaemingk.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chair DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the September 16, 2020 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the September 16, 2020 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Rosman, Seconded by Commissioner Hanson. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Gallagher discussed recent City Council activity.

Clerk/Treasurer Swisher introduced the two new Commissioners, Nick Tastad and Nick Lenning.

Mayor Kaemingk welcomed the Commissioners and thanked them all for their service to the City.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Chair DeMorett opened the Public Hearing at 7:17 PM, for Conditional Use Permit No. CU20-02, to allow construction of a secondary dwelling unit on the property of 24023 Brier Way. Planner Flathman gave an overview of the application with a recommendation to approve.

The applicant Evelyn Jahed explained why they would like to build the secondary dwelling unit.

Commissioner Rosman asked if the shed at the north end of the property was existing or being proposed and recommended that the site plan be corrected to reflect a 35 foot front yard set back.

Commissioner Hanson asked how many trees they plan to remove?

Commissioner DeMorett asked where does the sewer line come into the property and if there was a fence on the north side of the property.

The Public Hearing was closed at 7:37 PM.

Motion: To recommend approval to City Council for Conditional Use Permit No. CU20-02, to allow construction of a secondary dwelling unit on the property of 24023 Brier Way, with City Staff recommended conditions, Moved by Commissioner Rosman, Seconded by Commissioner Tastad. Motion Carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chair DeMorett opened for discussion to review the 2020 Planning Commission Annual Report. Motion: To approve the 2020 Planning Commission Annual Report for City Council, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Rosman. Motion Carried.
