Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:09 PM. 

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioners DeMorett, Hanson, Kolden, Lenning, and Councilmember Gallagher.

Absent: Commissioners Jonart, Rosman and Tastad.

Staff: Planner Flathman.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chair DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the June 16, 2021 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: To approve the June 16, 2021 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Kolden. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Gallagher discussed recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

The Public Hearing was opened at 7:20 PM, for Code Amendment No. CA21-05, to update zoning regulations to comply with the engrossed second substitute house bill 1220, allowing permanent supportive housing and transitional housing. Planner Flathman gave an overview of the changes. She introduced City Attorney Jennifer Robertson to answer any questions the Commissioners may have.

There was Commissioner discussion.

The Public Hearing was closed at 7:36 PM.

Motion: To recommend approval of the proposed Ordinance as drafted, amending Brier Municipal Code 17.041.040, 17.24.010 and 17.30.030, Moved by Commissioner Kolden, Seconded by Commissioner Lenning. Motion Carried.
