Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:03 PM.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioners DeMorett, Hanson, Campbell, Kolden, Lenning and

Absent: Commissioners Rosman and Tastad.

Staff: Planner Flathman.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chair DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the October 20, 2021 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the October 20, 2021 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Lenning.

Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Gallagher discussed recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Chair DeMorett opened the Public Hearing at 7:07 PM, for Zoning Division I, Code Amendment No. CA21-02. Planner Flathman gave an overview of the proposed changes to the Brier Municipal Code (BMC).

Commissioner Lenning pointed out some typographical errors and to clean up the use of the Oxford comma. He would like to see lines 437-441 and lines 726-728 removed.

Commissioner DeMorett suggested on line 294 replace the word "although" with "even if". Also lines 298-305 put a period after the word "title" on line 301, then start the next sentence with "Those permitted use changes are allowed provided".

The Public Hearing closed at 7:35 PM.

Motion: Recommend approval to City Council Code Amendment changes for Zoning Division I, with the following corrections:

Line 294 replace the word "although" with "even if", also lines 298-305 put a period after the word "title" on line 301, then start the next sentence with "Those permitted use changes are allowed provided", update grammar to make it uniform throughout this code section, Moved by Commissioner Kolden, None seconded. Motion died.

The commissioners took a 5-minute break at 8:01 PM.

The meeting resumed at 8:10 PM.

Chair DeMorett is recommending Planner Flathman update the code section with the above recommended changes and work on the wording for lines 437-441 and 726-728 and bring it back to the Commissioners.
