Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioners DeMorett, Hanson, Campbell, Lenning, Rosman, Tastad and Councilmember Gallagher.

Absent: Commissioner Kolden.

Staff: Planner Flathman.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chair DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the November 17, 2021 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the November 17, 2021 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Rosman. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Gallagher discussed recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chair DeMorett opened for review proposed Code Amendment No. CA21-02, changes to Brier Municipal Code, sections 17.24.101.c and 17.30.070. Planner Flathman gave a review of the proposed changes.

The Commissioners asked clarifying questions.

Commissioner Tastad suggested defining “arterial streets”.

NEW BUSINESS:

A.    Chair DeMorett opened for discussion appointing a Planning Commission Chair and Pro-Tem for 2022.

Commissioner Rosman nominated Commissioner DeMorett for Commission Chair. Seconded by Commissioner Hanson. There was a unanimous vote to place Commissioner DeMorett as Commission Chair.

Commissioner DeMorett nominated Commissioner Rosman for Commission Pro-Tem. There was a unanimous vote to place Commission Rosman as Commission Pro-Tem.

B.    Chair DeMorett introduced the Comprehensive Plan Amendment announcement. Planner Flathman reviewed the annual Comprehensive Plan update process.
