BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
December 20, 2023
7:00 PM
Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:03 PM.
ROLL
CALL:
Present: Commissioners
DeMorett, Campbell, Hanson, Parsons, Rosman and
Schneider.
Absent: Commissioner Othman.
Staff: Planner Michaelis.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:

DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the November 15, 2023 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the November 15, 2023

Commissioner Hanson. Motion Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Commissioner
Hanson commented on the lack of City Council representation at Planning
Commission meetings.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Joel Stuker of Brier, with the Link Light Rail
coming, he would like to see signage within the city saying no parking for
campers/recreational vehicles.
PUBLIC HEARING:
Chair DeMorett opened the Public Hearing at 7:07 PM,
for Conditional Use Permits No. CUP23-10, to allow for construction of a
Secondary Dwelling Unit on the property located at 22320 Hickory Way. And No.
CUP23-11, to allow for the modification of an existing on-site septic system to
support the Secondary Dwelling Unit. Planner Michaelis gave a review of the
project application.
Heather Anderson the applicant,
introduced herself and why they would like to proceed with this project.
Commissioner Parsons asked where the drain field
will be located and if trees will be removed.
Commissioner Hanson asked where the current septic
systems is located.
The Public Hearing closed at 7:15 PM.
Motion:
Recommend approval to City Council for Conditional
Use Permit No. CUP23-11, to allow for the modification of an existing on-site
septic system to support the Secondary Dwelling Unit located at 22320 Hickory
Way, Moved by Commissioner Schneider, Seconded by Commissioner
Parsons. Motion Carried.
Motion: Recommend approval to City Council Conditional Use Permit No. CUP23-10,
to allow for construction of a Secondary Dwelling Unit on the property located
at 22320
Hickory Way, Moved by Commissioner Parsons, Seconded
by Commissioner Campbell. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Chair
DeMorett opened for consideration the Planning Commission 2023 Annual Report.
Planner Michaelis reviewed the report. Commissioner DeMorett asked to have the
November date added. The report was approved by the Commissioners.
AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING:
Planner
Michaelis advised the Commissioners they will need to select a Chair and
Pro-Tem and start the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update review at their January
meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chair DeMorett declared the meeting adjourned at 7:28 PM.
