BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:01 PM.

Present: Commissioners
DeMorett, Campbell, Hanson, Ficker, Parsons, Rosman
and Schneider.
Staff: Planner Michaelis.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:
Chair
DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the December 20, 2023 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the December 20, 2023
Planning Commission minutes, Moved by
Commissioner Rosman, Seconded by
Commissioner Campbell. Motion Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A.
Planner
Michaelis introduced the new Planning Commissioner Kristin Ficker.
B.
Planner
Michaelis gave an update on recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
STUDY ITEMS:
A. Chair DeMorett opened for discussion
E2SHB1110 (Middle Housing Bill) and EHB 1337 (ADU Bill). Planner Michaelis gave
a brief explanation of these Bills.
There was Commissioner discussion with
clarifying questions.
B. Chair DeMorett opened for discussion the
2024 Growth Management Act Periodic Update. Planner Michaelis went over in
detail the Comprehensive Plan and why they need to review and update it. There
was Commissioner discussion with clarifying questions.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
Chair
DeMorett opened the floor for a 2024 Planning Commission Chair and Pro-Tem.
Commissioner
Rosman nominated Commissioner DeMorett for Chair, seconded by Commissioner
Parsons. Motion Carried.
Commissioner
DeMorett nominated Commissioner Rosman for Pro-Tem, seconded by Commissioner
Parsons. Motion Carried.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chair DeMorett declared the meeting adjourned at 8:11 PM.
