Rosman called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:00 PM.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioners Hanson, Ficker, Parsons and
Rosman.
Absent: Commissioners DeMorett,
Campbell and Schneider.
Staff: Planner Michaelis.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Rosman opened for consideration approval of the April 17, 2024
Planning Commission minutes. Motion:
Approve the April 17, 2024 Planning Commission
minutes, Moved by Commissioner
Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner
Parsons. Motion Carried.
STAFF UPDATES:
Planner Michaelis gave an update on the
timeline for the Comprehensive Plan - Annual Amendment.
PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARING:

Rosman opened the Public Hearing at 7:03 PM, to receive public comment on the
2024 Comprehensive Plan Annual Amendment. Planner Michaelis reviewed 2024
Comprehensive Plan Annual Amendment Docket List, changing the classification of
Vine Road / 216th Street SW from a minor road to a major road.
Commissioner
Parsons suggested updating the Transportation Element Map and to look if 34th
Avenue West and 36th Avenue West should actually be
minor streets.
Commissioner
Hanson asked if there are any other roads that are close to being bumped up to
a major road.
The
Public Hearing closed at 7:14 PM.
Motion: Recommend approval to City Council the
2024 Comprehensive Plan Annual Amendment No. CPA24-01 to change the
classification of Vine Road / 216th Street SW from a minor road to a
major road, with the correction of 34th Ave SW to W and 36th
Ave SW to W and update the Transportation Element Map, Moved by Commissioner Parsons, Seconded
by Commissioner Ficker. Motion Carried.
AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING (June 19, 2024):
Planner
Michaelis advised the Commissioners the next meeting may include two Conditional
Use Permits and potential draft elements of the Comprehensive Plan.
