BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
November 20, 2024
7:00 PM
Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning
Commission meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

CALL:
Present: Commissioners
Campbell, DeMorett, Ficker, Hanson, Parsons, Rosman
and Schneider.
Staff: City Planner Michaelis.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:
Chair DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the October
16, 2024 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the October 16, 2024 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Rosman, Seconded
by Commissioner Schneider.
Motion
Carried.
STAFF UPDATES:
City
Planner Michaelis gave an update that the city is looking for a new consultant
to use for a building official.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC MEETING:
Chair
DeMorett opened the discussion of the 2024-2044 City
of Brier Comprehensive Plan Update.
Brad Krueger of Brier, asked when would the city have to adopt
the new Accessory Dwelling requirements of the State and if the city would
reduce the minimum lot size requirement. Planner Michaelis advised the city
would have to adopt the new requirements by June 30, 2025
and no reduction in the minimum lot size.
Commissioner Parsons asked if the Commissioners will review the remainder of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update.
The remainder of the updates will have to be submitted to the State before
their next meeting, but they will be emailed to the Commissioners for comment.
The Commissioners reviewed and made recommendations
on each element of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update.
NEW & UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Chair
DeMorett opened for consideration the Planning Commission
2024 Annual Report. Planner Michaelis advised there has been some corrections
made and asked Commissioner DeMorett to come into
City Hall to sign the report. The Commissioners approved the report as written
with Staff corrections.
Planner Michaelis provided a document to the
Commissioners informing them on what they will be
working on/reviewing over the next year.
AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING:
There
will be no meeting in December 2024.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chair DeMorett declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:25 PM.
