Chair Rosman called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Commissioners Campbell, DeMorett, Ficker, Hanson, Parsons and Rosman.

Absent: Commissioner Schneider.

Staff: City Planner Michaelis.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chair Rosman opened for consideration approval of the February 19, 2025 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the February 19, 2025 Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Commissioner Hanson, Seconded by Commissioner Campbell. Motion Carried.

STAFF/COUNCIL UPDATES:

Planner Michaelis introduced Councilmember Marley, who gave an update on recent Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.

STUDY ITEMS:

A.     Chair Rosman opened for review the draft of Brier Municipal Code (BMC) Chapter 17.52 Tree Protection. Planner Michaelis presented a summary of the changes proposed.

B.     Chair Rosman opened for public comments on the proposed changes. This is not a Public Hearing, no time limit will be set, but the Chair may limit repetitive comments to move the meeting along.

Brad Krueger of Brier, suggested on line 372 to add Laurel and Burning Bush as invasive. He also asked to clarify the definition of caliper.

C.     There was Commissioner discussion on the proposed code changes; recommendations were made to clean up the language of the Code along with minor revisions.

AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING (April 16, 2025):

Planner Michaelis informed the Commissioners he will schedule the Public Hearing for the Tree Protection code updates. And maybe a Public Hearing on a Land Use application.
