BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
January 21, 2026
7:00 PM
Chair Campbell called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:01 PM.

Present: Commissioners
Campbell, DeMorett, Ficker, Hanson, Krueger, Maykovich
and Schneider.
Staff: City Planner Michaelis.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:

opened for consideration approval of the November 19, 2025
Planning Commission minutes. Motion:

minutes, Moved by Commissioner

STAFF UPDATES:
City
Planner Michaelis informed the Commissioners that they should have a Councilmember
liaison by the next meeting.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
Chair
Campbell opened for nominees for Planning Commission Chair and Pro-Tem.
Commissioner
Schneider nominated Commissioner Campbell for Chair, second by Commissioner Hanson.
Chair Campbell took vote, all were in favor.
Commissioner
Campbell nominated Commissioner Schneider for Pro-Tem, second by Commissioner Maykovich.
Chair Campbell took vote, all were in favor.

DeMorett asked about the Edmonds School District Levy being on the ballot. She
also asked what is 2026 looking like for the Planning
Commission. Planner Michaelis advised the affordable housing code will need to
be amended, along with the assisted living code amendment, a plat alteration
and a 5 lot subdivision.

Krueger asked for an update on the Building Official job posting.
Chair
Campbell asked if the City has considered doing "A Day
of Service" for cleanup within the City. He inquired about
insurance on the Horse Arena and if it could be used as a part
time dog park.
AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING (February 18, 2026):
Planner
Michaelis advised the Commissioners will hear a Plat
Modification at their next meeting.

Chair Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 7:14 PM.
